This schematic is a model of the Monolith from Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey.
The size is exactly a 1:4:9 ratio, measuring 16x64x144 blocks, totaling 147,456 blocks.
The outside shell is composed of obsidian while the inside is made of resources following a pattern of Kubrick's multi-dimensional theme. The resource pattern is as follows:
16 Redstone Ore (~6%)
25 Coal Ore (~9%)
36 Iron Ore (~13%)
49 Gold Ore (~18%)
64 Emerald Ore (~24%)
81 Diamond Ore (~30%)
This schematic is designed to be placed at elevation 64, near the default sea level, while facing north from the back left corner of the structure. The structure will be placed 36 blocks below ground from your position. The purpose of this design is both to pay tribute to Kubrick and Clarke's epic story as well as to serve as a centerpiece for a player community who can gather resources from it and progress the advancement of their civilization just as they did when cavemen first made contact with TMA-0.
