Welcome towards my PMC Underwater Wonderland project contest 11 entry named:

Moon Pool Research Center (MPRC)

MPRC is an mobile underwater research center with a moon pool as docking bay for submarines.
Inside the moon pool you can breath, but the pressure of the air is the same as of the water. For that need there are 4 (de)compression chambers to make sure you don't get the divers sicknes. Two tubes are placed along side the moon pool for living and researching the colorful coral reefs

MPRC:
Redstone controlled
- Living quarters lights.
- Research facillity lights.
- 4 (working) engines individually controlled for maximum steering possibilties.
- Moon pool interior lighting.
- Moon pool underwater guiding lights.
- Decompression chambers, controlled per tube.
Living quarters features
- Living quarters.
- Common area.
- Rest rooms.
- Thinkers corner.
- Storage.
Research facillity features
- 2 large research bassins with each two terminals.
- 5 small research bassins with each two terminals.
- Several research work places.
- Archives.
Moon pool features
- 3 cranes for lifting the small research submarines.
- 24 storage places for carry verhicles.
- 10 storage rooms for reserve material and other stuff.
- 6 small research submarines store-able.

Small research submarines:
Features
- Engine on of (yes the props are working)
- Cargo door open/close. Cargo area is 2x5x2 or 20 blocks of volume.
- Dive downwards.
- Dive upwards.
- 4 search lights individual controlled.
Carry verhicles
- cruiser, for fast underwater transport.
- Science, packed with sciencitif stuff.
- Floaters, small agiler than the cruisers for research between the coral reefs.
- Diggers, taking samples of the coral reefs.
- Dumper, temporarily storing samples of the diggers for transport back towards the MPRC

Lore:
While Steve enjoyed the colorful coral reefs and fish, Steve started to wonder why this world was so colourfull. After all; the nether, the sky, the caves, space and others did not had this vibrant colour palette.

With that in his mind, Steve went back towards his industrial complex to start making a research center. At first Steve thought about an industrial one, but those aren't moveable neither would train tracks work underwater. After long thinking he decided to make a mobile underwater research center. With that he could research the vast sea without having to go back.

Steve equipped the MPRC with 6 small submarine capable of carrying load or research objects into the reef. For proper observation a glass bol was used as command place for the small submarines.
In order to maintain those subs, he needed a docking bay inside the MPRC.

With that the base of the MPRC was laid. The docking bay or moon pool figures in the center of it. On both longest side Steve made two tubes. On each end Steve placed an engine, for a total of 4 engines. These were heavy industrial engines that could travel long distance or make steep corners when needed. Inside the tubes normal land air pressure was maintained. One tube designed for controlling and living while the other tube was designed for research. The research tube contains 2 large aquariums and 5 smaller aquariums. All of these are fully close able in case of quick rising of diving.

The first objective of the MPRC is to find out why & how the coral reefs are so colorful. With that, Steve set out into his new journey.

Other:
- Do not claim this as your own build.
- No reposts.

Personally I appreciate more a thoughtfull comment than a diamond.
So leave a comment if you like, or not and say why =)

Nice idea on this entry. Maybe, you could have mixed up the shape a bit more? It seems very flat and repetitive, so maybe adding different shapes to it would make it look more unique and interesting.

I love your interiors! Very basic and simple, but very practical!

Ah yes the shape. That design choice comes from the fact that used redstone. A bland tube is more easily wired with several lines directly near each other than a weirdly shaped one. This is especially true for the small submarine with how it's packed with redstone (crap, I should have added that picture...). Also a tube factor is more suited to resist the water pressure of +50m of water on top.
Anyway I see what I can do with it.

Yush interiors, it will give this build extra dimension in combination with my redstone wiring.

Indeed, good luck my fellow competitor and thank you for the constructive feedback.

The way your submarine is going it looks like its going to crash, I really love that you used redstone for the ship, this should give you a strong shot at winning.

Thanks for pointing out that I still need to adjust the 4 helms.

I do hope so that the judges are looking further than only a main impression. It is interesting to incoorporate the redstone but it surely gives it own troubles. The troubles come forth of not taking any space up reserved for other ends such as living space.

Anyway, thanks for the comment & diamond :-)
