Hi!
I built this for a building contest on the creative server I play on. Done in about a month. Theme was 'Myths and Legends'.
I'm pretty happy with how it turned out, experimenting with colour gradients on wall surfaces. Colour palette is a weakness for me, so I'm probably going to move away from the heavily gray stonebrick block palette which I've used for a lot builds.
Some small lore or context for this build:
"Tiitled 'Northwatch', this fortification resides between a mountainous pass. In this forgotten time, humanity is forced to isolate itself underground, or within protective terrain. Large beasts and monsters roam the earth, making life challenging for the pockets of human civilization that have manage to develop. This structure protects one of the natural entrances to a hidden city. One of the largest to still remain, it is protected by a mountain range, keeping its existance relatively unknown to the vast dangers of the wilderness.
The architecture of this civilization has a somewhat gothic feel. Many great architects and artisans have lived within, with wealth and size of the city enabling such grand and detailed architectural designs."
