The ICM (InterCityMaterieel) were built in 1977, The mechanical parts were built by Talbot and the electrical systems were made by CEM, Oerlikon and Holec.
These trains are also referred to as "Plan Z" or "Koploper", the name "Koploper" (literally meaning Head walker, but meant as Front runner) was taken from its "Doorloopkop", a walkway that could connect 2 trainsets through the front.
They were all modernised to the ICMm between 2005-2006, In which the blue line in the front now has a rounded end and this Doorloopkop has been removed due to technical failures, the rest of the modernistions are more technical stuff and i will not go in depth about that.
They are next to the VIRM the most common train in the Netherlands, there are a total of 144 built.

de doorloopkop was niet alleen verwijderd vanwege het technisch mankement maar ook omdat er te weinig gebruik van werd gemaakt, wel jammer want dat maakte de trein toch uniek op het spoor ;(
Dat is mijn 1.5:1 werkplaats haha
