I know it's been asked a few different ways, but I just wanted to clarify; I find the use of the word "layer" to describe a region of 16×16×4 (the region in which Bedrock can be found in the contest map) to be a little ambiguous.

Let's say I remove all blocks except the blocks at the lowest height (y=0), and ensure Bedrock is in every block in the original chunk at y=0 (16×16×1 = 256 Bedrock blocks).

This would leave me free to use up to 254 height for the project, while ensuring the entire "base" of the project is separated from the Void by Bedrock.

Is this within the rules?

If the layer is there, you're okay. Literally the only thing is that it just needs to exist somehow in your build. It's how we know everyone is at a fair starting point.

Here are the Bedrock links to the map. Both in MCWorld and Zip Format.

Dear Staff,
I have been trying to upload a title image (thumbnail) for a project for this contest and it keeps on stating an error message even though I have compressed the image to around 700 KB.
Error message as follows:

One or more errors occurred while uploading your images:
* Error on Two-Worlds-min.jpg: Error: AJAX reported 500

Do you know the cause of this problem and how to fix it?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Sincerely,
Bestfeeling

Update: I tried to make the pixel smaller and it now works, I guess that there is a limit for the maximum pixels for an image. Thank you all for your help. I have managed to upload the project.

Cheers!

Hello! Please make a ticket here: www.planetminecraft.com/tickets/

That sounds like a PMC technical issue.

I may not be staff, but sounds like the site may have been having issues earlier. Error 500 on a website is usually an Internal Service Error. Dunno what AJAX means, but it reminds me of the dish detergent. Have you tried your upload again recently?

The layer must not be altered unless you are moving it up or down in the y direction.

You can remove all blocks except the bedrock layer. If the bedrock layer is not there, it will be disqualified.

If you can convert the MC world into Bedrock, I don't see why not. We've never limited members and it's naive to start now.

I personally do not understand the rules for the bedrock layer. May it be edited? I personally would like to edit it to fit the design I wanted, though if that isn't allowed, it's perfectly fine.

It has to stay completely intact, unedited except shifting the position of it up or down. If it's not a 16x16 layer of bedrock, it needs to be fixed accordingly.

I made my submission, and some people are saying that since the vines and water overhang the chunk, even though they were like that when I downloaded the map, that my submission might be DQ'd. I'd just like to make sure whether that's the case or not. If it is, can I make the changes and still have the submission count? For clarification, I did the "Temple of the Rising Sun".

You're okay. We'd prefer if everything was blocked off by barriers so there's no overhang, but it won't count against you.

I haven't asked this on any building contest but, using WorldEdit (or similar to that) count as "Building aids"? And another question: can we change the biome? I would like to change the color of the water according to what I'm going to build.

Also, I changed a couple of gamerule (like doFireTick = false) because I noticed that there was a PMC logo at the chunk and I don't want to burn it accidentally.

GLHF, everyone! :D

WorldEdit is perfectly okay :) the rule is more so about converting models to blocks, which isn't allowed on PMC.

Converting the biome is also okay! Biome away :)

And, changing the world settings is fine. No worries.

As long as the bedrock layer is still there, you're okay.
