Would I be allowed to use this to build a map on that is NOT for a contest but that I WILL upload? Of course I would credit.

A link on the Sustainable City Project Contest under "How to Enter" links to here instead of the floating island map which is to be used on said Contest. May want to fix that.

I would need more time to make a respectable entry.

Perhaps the next event i'll join! :)

You can't terraform? What kind of bullshit is that? Terra-forming is HALF of building! I am severely disappointed in this rule. Also, whoever built this map didn't even leave open spaces and the mountains are extremely abysmal.

This is lame. Just let us build our OWN maps or let us terraform. GAH
What are the X Y Z coordinates of Steve's friend's house?
Are you allowed to use 1.10 Snapshots? Like Structure Blocks???

That would be a no. The contest rules say 1.9 or below, and though you can't use 1.10 for structure blocks, you can use WorldEdit to do the same thing.
Am I allowed to create mine in 1.8?
(I have no idea how to use 1.9 commands but I'm great with 1.8.)
Ahhhh!!! I Quit i can't take it my redstone commands keep on bugging
i'm sorry i failed u all :"(

Each person may participate in one project and only one project may be entered per account.
That means if you and your friend both make entries, you aren't allowed to help each other and both entries must be uploaded to different PMC accounts.
I unfortunately won't be able to participate in the contest (likely wouldn't win, anyways), but I gotta give my compliments to whoever made the starter map. It looks really nice! :D
Am I allowed to add functionality like working cannons and stuff? I just want to check because it would suck to get disqualified for making a faction cannon or something.
Does it work for minecraft pocket edition?
If you found a PC to Pocket converter it still wouldn't work because it's too big for pocket edition. :-(
Im going to win because I like fish shaped mushrooms
Termi-Trump likes fish :O

You could be running to much stuff or have to much stuff on your computer.
If you have a lot of thing on your desktop that mite be it. If so then move it all to your "My Document" folder so your compter can run better.
Note: There could be hidden programs running on your computer

Ok, so I applied changes to most of the terrain's block palette (except the the bedrock and podzol, of course) to fit the theme that I wanted. However, I hope that I didn't go too far. I eliminated all of the (excuse me for saying so) rather ugly water and lava lakes that dotted the landscape. I even removed some of the lakes that were in the bedrock/podzol area. Since none of the lakes had bedrock or podzol in them, I thought that it would be alright to change them. I did not alter any block of terrain that was composed of bedrock or podzol. Did I take the rules too literally? Can we alter ANY block except bedrock or podzol? If I add custom trees to the terrain and their branches happen to overhang over areas composed of bedrock or podzol, did I break the rules? Can we use custom tree repositories (such as Lentebriesje's tree pack)? Please reply to this barrage of questions, for I need answers soon. Thank you. =D

The rules mention 'area', so it's not as literal as that the block can only not be changed if its podzol or bedrock. The trees and 'uglyness' in the bedrock/podzol areas should be present. For your 'edited screenshots' you are allowed to have it all cleaned up though.

Considering the amount of space there is without podzol there should be no need to have overhanging branches. Since my custom trees were made before the contest, and not specifically for the contest, they can't be used.

What you can do, if you want overhanging branches over podzol, is to replace some grass with podzol and bring the transition within the borders of that you are allowed to edit.

So would it matter if a few blocks of podzol or bedrock were accidentally changed? Does grass surrounded by podzol/bedrock count as an unchangeable area? Can we modify terrain such as sand (the rules say only grass and stone can be changed)? How come the rules are quite strict? Why do the trees and "ugliness" in the bedrock/podzol area have to stay? Why am I asking so many questions? =D
For those of you with doubts, here's a link to the competition post

Honestly, I wanted to do this as my first competition, but nothing but the basic terrain is already so cool!! I'm a little intimidated now...
Are we aloud to have the build be partially destroyed from a present attack? Like having smoke and destroyed buildings?
I'm sure you can interpret that however you want, so go ahead :P

I can just imagine in 15 days, the 1st entry being colossal walls around the whole thing until the bedrock and podzol. And there's most likely also gonna be houses and roads and barracks EVERYWHERE. xD

Seriously, I've seen it happen so many times in contests on the internet. All the submissions are kinds "meh :/", but then at the very last second, someone posts a submission that just blows everyone's minds. xD

P.S. Amazing job at making the mountains blend really well with the rest of the terrain. If that was a real place, I would so build a kingdom there and live in it and explore it all day long. It look absolutely breath taking! :D
can i make something out of the map, dont worry its not part of the story its just for the redstone and the spawn. Cuz if i put it in the actual map it will ruin it :P

Or must it remain?
Well, you can dig threw the terrain, so yes.
Through is more like it, Threw means you threw something at trump's head because he is dumb! :3
u can remove it but steve's friend must have somewhere to live in :P
Are you allowed to make minor changes to the terrain?

And am i allowed to use command blocks?
I'm sure it said that you can use any kind of block, and cheats ARE enabled.
Also, it helps to write a witty tale to go alongside your defense.

Where is the blog post
Here's a problem, In the Barbarian territory there are trees that are burning up. We can reset the map and turn off updates, but I think it's a major design flaw to have placed trees next to lava on the side where you're not allowed to modify at all. All I hope is that when judging peoples builds aren't disqualified because of a tree burning down due to something like this. Not every one knows how to prevent block updates, this has nothing to do with the persons building skills and should not be knowledge someone should require to have a valid entry.

Also, are we allowed to build on the small patches of stone/grass surrounded by podzol/bedrock out past the valley. It's grass and stone, so it seems like we should be allowed to, but I want to be 100% sure of the rules.
To complete my build aesthetically, i need to break some stone blocks. Is that fine?Otherwise, it won't get the proper look.
