Since my other lock (found here) received so much attention, I thought I'd revisit the project and improve on it. I kept the look and simplicity; however, instead of levers, there are now buttons. Also, the order in which the buttons are pressed matters. There are 5040 possible combinations. It can be easily reprogrammed to a combination of your choice. Keep reading and watch the video to see how this is done.

Reprogramming is easy. Look down at the device, and you'll see there are 6 strips of gray blocks. Each of these strips represents one entry in the combination. The combination starts from the back and works forward (towards the door). To choose a color for an entry in the combination, just remove the gray block on top of the color you want, and replace the redstone. Remember that there should be a gray block on top of every other colors in that row. There should be only one color exposed on each gray strip. Also, a color cannot be used more than once in a combination. So, make sure there are no repeating colors. Watch the video for an example of reprogramming.

Don't want rainbow buttons? No problem. Programming is still easy without the colors. Notice how the buttons correspond with the colors:

Additional Notes

Planned Improvements:
  • Reorganizing the colors for easier programming without colors (completed with v2.0)
  • Making the door unable to open by simply placing a pressure plate, button, or lever next to it (completed with v2.0)
