This is some screenshots of my submission for the oriental themed building competition on Sunfury's server.
The plot is 75x75, and only creativemode have been used.

I wanted to make a build over the theme, that had a little more depth/meaning, than the usual "pagoda & chinese dragon" you connect with "oriental". I have tried to symbolize topics as eg: poverty, hunger, overpopulation (1 child policy), high tech/industrialization, pollution, tradition, pride, hard work, beauty etc. Which are some of the stuff that pops into my mind, when I think about that part of the world (besides crazy gameshows). The build doesn't represent a specific country.

I have experimented a bit: with perspective/ratio, best seen in the silhouette of the city, but also the tree and the hill with terraced fields. all are a different ratio. I've also included almost 2d objects: the city and the sun, I think that works pretty well with the plot, but it was also neccesary in order to get the depth  I was aiming for. The water with ripples was also an experiment, and I think it came out pretty nice.

All in all I've really enjoyed to build this, as I've been playing with several new ideas, and gotten some good experiences with them. Of course the build could be more polished and have had more details, but that wouldn't change the feel I was aiming for. Some details I've left out on purpose (eg the face of the farmer)
