Hi there everyone!
So I've been building for a while, but have only gotten into the Messy Medieval build style in the last few months. As most of you can see, I've still got quite a ways to go toward really getting the hang of it. But I thought I would at least start posting my builds as I go along and help track my progress as I learn. I'll be sticking with smaller builds for now until I feel more comfortable branching into bigger things.
As far as this build goes, it's based on an herbalist hut I did a few months back (Which I will post once I settle a plagiarism issue).
I kept it small, roof included, the hut is 10x9, and the interior only 6x5, and I still feel a bit like I could have made it smaller. There's still quite a lot of space inside I'm sure I could have done something with, but I settled on a simple table in the center, and a pile of hay/feed in one corner to take up the bulk of the space inside.
The fireplace is nothing special, though I think it's still a bit too much if I'm being honest. I will more than likely play around with some ideas for a firepit that will fit in a small space and maybe come back to this again. There's cook pot over the fire, suspended from the ceiling via wood fence and gates (which I rather liked), and a wood box in the corner made up of a log and a few signs to block it off.
The loft isn't anything special, and is probably the part I like the least out of this whole build. There's two beds and a chest, with a ladder for access. The whole thing's built on half slabs to leave the main floor with some height to the ceiling, and a post for support. It works I guess, but It just feels.... bland.
There's really not much here in terms of decor. I stuck to dirt and gravel for the floor, with a bit of grass in the corner, plus a spider web in the rafters.
I'd like to thank Stykernag for patiently teaching me this build style, and can only hope I don't get on his nerves too much while I blunder through!

Additional Notes
Like I said, I'll probably revisit this build at some point in the future, but for now, I'll call it finished.I'd like to thank Stykernag for patiently teaching me this build style, and can only hope I don't get on his nerves too much while I blunder through!

Have something to say?
Small yet detailed in it owns way. But doesn't set the fire-pit the house on fire? I mean I remember my old ''city'' where I had to rebuild a part every 15min since I didn't build a fire-pit correctly.
A bit sad for the owners not be able to stand on the loft.
Don't forget the most important: Have fun building!
and welcome to PMC
