History
The Preorate-class was a troop transport designed by Kualin Stardrives for the GACIAF administration, and was used extensively by GAOAC and GAONC to move infantry and equipment between systems and land surface forces during invasions. The craft was capable of seating 72 infantry in the main passenger compartment as well as any personal equipment and weapons carried by soldiers, and if necessary an additional 72 individuals could stand and hold onto handholds along the ceiling for a total capacity of 144 infantry. Troops would leave the ship through the aft hold, which had space for light armor and artillery pieces, cargo, or other supplies that ground forces could make use of. The layout of internal compartments did make it slightly tedious to load and unload the full complement of infantry that the Preorate-class could carry, but the ship was not intended to land in actively contested areas. The transport was only equipped with two CorT2-21v/ii light laser cannons designed by Lezekka Technologies and updated by Syvatii Unlimited. These weapons could fire quickly and accurately, but were only effective against armored vehicles and light fortifications, with even the most basic of strike craft able to outmaneuver and take down the Preorate if it had no escort.
