The northern outskirts of the city hosts a crown airbase where the city launches its fighter planes. Unlike airships, planes of Steamworld must be launched from short runways, as their flight depends heavily on its speed. Due to the high energy output of steamfuel leading to extremely quick thrust output, the runways do not necessarily require to be lengthy.

The airbase is managed by one of the larger houses of Kingdom Regina: House Aerwyn, known for their patrols of northern Regina and their specialization in the management of sky traffic. Responsible for some of the more advanced aerial navigation technology, House Aerwyn has established themselves as one of the most fundamental houses in the kingdom.

The modern R3, Regina's most reliable interceptor, was drafted and eventually manufactured under Tavian Aerwyn, father of the current housemaster, Magistra Kaelen. Although he has passed, his love for aviation lives on in the kingdom.
