“Nature's heart beats strong amid the hills.”

Amid the countryside lie a landscape brusied and scarred, with gorges ripping through the landscape and hills jutting free at every possible angle. Rocks run free, tumbling down the sides of the stone, leaving yet more trails running down the ridges and edges of the battered hills. Foxes play under the trees, the adults lying lazily in the sun whilst the cubs hop from pebble to pebble near the edge of one of the ridge's many valleys. This may be one of Nature's toughest places, but it's also the sanctuary of countless of her creatures, for no harm can ever permeate through the strength of Nature's vale.

Scarred Ridge was a strange map to make, though it's without a doubt the best map I've created when walking through ingame - the landscape is so varied yet carefully eroded and crafted, with rocks strewed around in (admittedly accidental) great positioning - I'm incredibly happy with what I've created. This map wasn't inspired by any real life locations, although if it reminds you of anywhere I'd love to hear where in the comments below. Scarred Ridge was incredibly hard to get renders for, and I've been milling over them for some time. I'm extremely happy to release this map to you guys, for a while I wasn't sure I'd ever find some good angles!

I used the following tools to create this map:
  • WorldPainter (for creating the map)
  • Chunky (for rendering the map)

It looks great, although it would have been nice to see some bigger pictures. Now it's more guessing about the details than seeing them. Still nicely done.
