This ship is named after the most famous Bulgarian writer of all times, Ivan Vazov, who is famous for creating poems and stories about the 1870's, particularly the April Uprising, and of course, in his late career, criticizing the Bulgarians for their love for money and property, and for not remembering about the heroes that died for their freedom.
