The SS Prichten is a former Livian ocean liner that sailed primarily on the North Atlantic Ocean from 1938 to 1962 for the Livian LLoyd and was built by the Marine Shipyard of Prichten. SS Prichten was the fastest and largest ocean liner until she was surpassed in size by the RMS Queen Mary 2 in 2004. The ship was a response to the express superliners built by Germany (Bremen & Europa), Italy (Rex & Conte di Savoia)
, France (Normandie & Legende) and Great Britain (Queen Mary & Queen Elizabeth) in the the late 1920s and 1930s.

Pre-war
The ocean liner fleet of the Livian nation was outdated in the 1930s and therefore a new ship was ordered at the Marine Shipyard of Prichten where also warships were built. Because of the building tensions in Europe, the new ocean liner was already planned with marine standarts to serve as a troop transporter during the war. The requirements for that were a speed that would rival every other ship on the North Atlantic route and in addition to that a strenghtened hull with a complex and strictly divided engine room so that the ship could still remain sailing even after a torpedo hit. The ship was ordered in 1934 and a couple of months later in the same year her keel was laid down on the slipway. During the construction process, many interior concepts were being designed from different buros and the best ones were then picked out by the Livian LLoyd, which shall be the operator of the new liner. The speed that the workers built the hull made it possible that the launch already took place in the winter of 1936, with the Kaiser in person christening the newly built ship to the name of "Prichten", the country's capital city. The fitting out process was completed in 1938 and featured luxurious accomadation for the first, tourist and third class. Standing at the stairs of the Observation Bar in the front, the flag at the stern could be seen through the spacious public rooms of the first class. With 95,664 GRT she was the biggest ocean liner that was ever built until the the RMS Queen Mary 2 in 2004 surpassed this record. After the sea trials were completed without any major vibrations detected, the preparation for the first voyage across the Atlantic were being made. Many tickets were booked for the maiden voyage of the SS Prichten on which she obtained the blue riband for sailing at an average speed of 35 knots, not even pushing her engines near to its limits. The ship needed 3 days, 11 hours and 30 minutes for the Westbound crossing and roughly 2 hours less for the Eastbound one. Before the war broke out, she even travelled at an average speed of 38 knots. She was deeply popular for the people that travelled on her.

Wartime
When the war broke out in 1939, the ship was still in New York, where she was painted in Navy Gray. Her interior fittings where put in storage and kept safe at the Livian LLoyd's pier in New York. In 1940 she travelled to the marine base of Livia in the Storenfjord and obtained AA-Guns and beds for her troop transporting duty. During the time period from 1940 to 1945 she transported around 900,000 soldiers to Europe and was never attacked by any German U-Boat. Her turbo-electric drive was brought to its limits in the war years where she briefly reached a top speed of 43.62 knots. Due to this high speed the SS Prichten could never be cought by any German U-Boat or most destroyers and remains the fastest ocean liner and ship of this size to this day.

Post-war
The ship made it trough the war safely and carried soldiers and war brides to their homes until 1946. After her luxurious interiors where being reinstalled and partly updated, the liner entered commercial service again in 1947. Her popularity was the same as before and she made many peaceful voyages across the North Atlantic. In 1958 the SS Livendal entered service for the Livian LLoyd, a ship very different than the SS Prichten. She was built for the South Atlantic route which gained more popularity in the following years because of the rise of air travel across the North Atlantic. The SS Livendal was also build for cruising, a feature that the SS Prichten did not include. But the liner still made profit troughout the 1950s, only in the 1960s a decline in passenger numbers could be seen.
In 1960, the Kaiser of Livia died during a plane crash and the country was led by the former defence minister since then. For two years she still travelled across the North Atlantic but in 1962 her voyages stopped since sea travel to America was not a service offered by the country anymore because it became socialist. During the following year, the SS Prichten sat idle at a pier at the marine base in the Storenfjord where it was opted to use her as a cruise ship like the SS Livendal and the SS Avendal. It was being tried from 1963 to 1967 to use her as a ocean liner to the Soviet Union hence she also had ice breaking capabilities but that did not make any profits due to too high operating costs. The liner continued to sit idle at the pier in the Storenfjord when it was tried in 1968 to rebuild her as a museum ship. This process begun but was cancelled due to cost overruns and therefore the ship was put on auction in the same year.
In 1969 the state of Friedrichsburg bought the ship and she started her voyage to there under her own power. Despite needing a pilot, the captain wanted to sail the ship on his own and completely stranded the ocean liner at the northern cliffs of Scotland. In the following weeks, the ship broke in two parts. The captain, as spoken guilty, was sent to prison labor camp whereas the SS Prichten was being partially dismanteled by swimming cranes from 1970 to 1971. The rest of the ship was shallowed by the sea and is completely gone today.
One of her three anchors was salvaged from the wreck and completely refurbished and can be seen at the Marine Museum of Prichten today.

Information: This ship and her history are entirely fictional!

Nice. This ship actually inspired me to build a ship close to Normandie as well. By the way, can you tell me where you got the inspiration for the interior of your ship?

Mostly AI generated pictures and my own immagination. All in all this ship is not Art Deco, it is pure Neoclassicism, a style I like more than Art Deco bc it is more intimidating and it fits better to the ship bc this style was very popular in Europe in the late 30s and early 40s.

Chris, good job at making this, but you really didn't need to have the screenshots look like they've been made in bathwater.
