Muv-Luv Lore:
A quasi-2nd generation Tactical Surface Fighter, the MiG-23 Cheburashka (МиГ-23 Чебурашка) is the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics's first attempt at a "true" domestic design, unlike the F-4R Phantom-derived MiG-21 Balalaika.
An evolution of the previous MiG-23 Cheburashka, the MiG-27 Alligator (Аллигатор) is an improved TSF built by further developing the MiG-23. It takes its name from the alligator, the reptilian species.
This pack includes a Stasi MiG-23, Beatrix's MiG-27, and Theodor's custom MiG-23, nicknamed "Cheburashka Zwei" or "Cheburashka II."
Behind the Scenes:
Redeco/remold of the previous MiG-23 and MiG-27. The difference with Theodor's custom MiG-23 is that the antenna is now located on the top nose part, like the Mirage F1's probe. Also, the real East German MiG-23 paint scheme is used as a reference for all liveries (except Beatrix's.)
Real East German MiG-23s.
An East German MiG-23BN, which is the most likely inspiration for the MiG-27 being in East German service in the Alternative timeline.
Real-World Lore:
When East and West Germany unified, no MiG-23s were transferred to the German Air Force, but twelve former East German MiG-23s were supplied to the United States. When Czechoslovakia split into the Czech Republic and Slovakia, the Czechs received all the MiG-23s, which were retired in 1998. Hungary retired its MiG-23s in 1996, Poland in 1999, Romania in 2000, and Bulgaria in 2004.
In the real world, East Germany never operated the MiG-27 or ever made an exclusive 1-of-1 variant.
