This build and story were inspired by two things. First, the fact that it rains in this particular desert and secondly, a project/story (by squarechique) where Steve was being led further and further into the desert by Herobrine.
Build details: This is my first organic build. I built it manually by hand, and used plotz.co.uk to help me work out the underlying sphere underneath the octopus (then dismantled most of it when it turns out octopus's heads aren't round!)
So, without further ado... I present... the Wrath of the Ocean.
Each step up the massive dune of sand seemed endless, but something inside of Steve kept him going on. Determination filled him to the brim. He knew that, if he just kept pushing, he could make it. He had to make it to Alex in time, had to warn him it was a trap. Steve stumbled forward, exhaustion taking him over. In the distance he saw a flash of.. blue?? He fell down the other slope of the dune toward.... chaos!
A few hours earlier....
"Is this really it?" Alex couldn’t believe his eyes as the ghostly green temple shimmered in front of him. He had finally found it.. The Temple of Herobrine! Soon he would have answers. Even the secret entrance was where he expected.
He set up camp, tethered the horse, then checked his kit and got ready to sneak past the guard. Suddenly, it started to rain. "Rain?? In a desert??" He put it out of his mind as he concentrated on the challenge ahead
Meanwhile...
Thea sighed in relief as the ceremony approached. "Finally, the preparations are complete". She was only a child when the sea gods delivered the temple one stormy night. the first storm ever to bless the desert village. Thea had trained ever since, to understand the ceremonies and keep the rain. Only one thing was clear. They must protect the temple against any intruder. For inside the temple, lived the children of the gods!
Alex crept through the temple corridors, feeling like he was underwater. He had made a terrible mistake. "How is this linked to Herobrine? It makes no sense." But perhaps there would be some reward. As Steve finally reached the central chamber, he spied it - sea dragon eggs nestled at the bottom of a sparkling pool. He stretched out a hand..........
Something was wrong. Clouds started to swirl in, blocking out the sun and casting a shadow over the land. It only deepened as lightning started to lash the sky. "Why were the gods angry??".
Most of the villagers lost their nerve and fled into the twilight. Only the priestess Thea remained to see the beautiful blue temple light suddenly flash a terrifying rusty red red. She fell to her knees as the ground started to shake. Suddenly, in a blinding flash of water and light it was there. The protector of the temple and the wrath of the gods!!

Also, try to be consistent in pressing F1 before taking a screenshot.
Good luck in the contest although you're competition!
Also a good point on the F1 button.. I hadn't really considered it until I had finished, so all my build photos include the menu. At least it shows I built it in minecraft I guess.
What's your entry? I would love to see it
My entry, go to my profile and it's the newest project of mine.
