The Zenia-class was a commercial freighter designed by Datopala Industrial in the decade before the Shadow Fleet Crisis era, with production continuing until about the end of 48,534 ACT. The freighter consisted of a small hangar bay at the aft, an engineering section with stations for any technicians or controllers, a large main hangar bay with an adjustable cargo crane, the crew's living quarters with needed accommodations for extended spaceflight, and the cockpit at the bow. The Zenia-class was praised by users for its modularity - most non-critical systems, including the hangar crane and crew facilities, could be modified or removed to make space for alternative systems. Additionally, a large number of access panels along the ship's length to structural elements and fuel and power lines allowed for easy maintenance by crews away from drydock. The standard Zenia-class was not particularity fast at sublight or past lightspeed, but Datopala published extensive documentation on the configuration of the ship's S5-440192-003 model Oreph fission reactor and associated fueling assemblies, allowing certified engineers to make upgrades and modifications to improve performance and efficiency. The Zenia-class would sell well across TAUFOG, with small startup transport companies especially favoring the design for its low upkeep and ability to be continually modified with current technologies over the years. Some Zenia-class freighters would still be in service over 500 years after production ended, although the sales of Zenia-class ships always remained below those of Datopala's Balkon-class freighter.
