Deel's Story
Deel is an entity born from the remnants of the Obsidian Wasteland; a blank void filled with hollow cubes of pure darkness. Prometheus Sollmar is the overlord of this foreboding abyss. He is the progenitor of orb-like creatures known as Wasteland Demons who feast on human souls like a bunch of little parasites. They start out as a voice to a human host. Slowly feeding off the energy to gain a mortal form, until eventually, the demon gains enough strength to break free from its mindscape and return to the Obsidian Wasteland to grant Prometheus power. He intends to rule over the land above, tarnishing all human life for his own cause. His demonic progeny only serves one purpose and nothing more. These demons have no compassion, nor remorse for their actions, for they only exist to be part of a greater plan.. Well, except for Deel of course.
His real name is Villkamoth Sollmar, and he is the youngest Wasteland Demon. The last to be chosen after 80 years of sitting in darkness. Deel based his name off of his host (Dean) and has grown quite fond of him. The young demon is like Prometheus’ test subject. Deel has a far superior purpose than his siblings, but he doesn't know it yet. He defies Promethues' commands to kill Dean, despite knowing he has to, he refuses due to his increased emotional state. These emotions stem from Deel's unique status among his siblings as the only demon who possesses a heart. Many of the Wasteland Demons have heard stories of an incredible object that can evoke feelings they would never have thought possible, yet they will never understand it as fully as Deel does - since he is the only one among them with such a gift. Unlike his brethren, Deel is capable of feeling emotions he can't quite comprehend yet - such as fear, guilt, boredom, pain, and anxiety.
There is, however, one emotion in particular that he understands quite well - his insatiable sweet tooth. Deel is a glutton for sweets, and nothing satisfies him more than something sugary. No matter how much he indulges in sweet treats, Deel can never tire of it as a demon; this only increases his desire for more. Aside from his sweet tooth, Deel also has a good sense of humor and loves to make people laugh. The young demon's childish nature can be an annoyance to Dean at times, but it hasn't become too much of an issue over the course of their lives together. Dean will never admit it, but he does enjoy the company.
Not everything is fine and dandy though. There is still a disappointing reality he must face. Deel dreads the prospect of having to either take Dean's life or return to the Wasteland and start again with a new host, neither of which are appealing options. Deep down, Deel is fearful of the unknown future that looms over him. He simply wishes for things to remain unchanged. For now, though, his mind is elsewhere, exploring the world with his host and experiencing things no other demon can. It's the joy of living that makes him feel complete.
