Dumple Mc.Gill

On the outskirts of Metropolis, there was an old man living in a shack high up on a mountain with a clear view of the sprawling city. He rejected urban living and preferred his quiet life tinkering in his humble abode with gadgets and scraps he found in a junkyard nearby. He built many robots, a lot of them rivaling even the major factories in the heartland of Metropolis. He didn't view his creations as being "his" nor even being ownable, he viewed them as his friends and as people. He felt compelled to make them better at keeping him company, so he experimented, he had a goal. He wanted to make his automatons sentient. So he tinkered day in and day out to make his dream a reality. After many years he finally did it, he had made the first awakened robot, Lerwick, but he knew he could do more. He sent his robot out to give others the gift of life, and help them break free of their human masters. Dumple Mc.Gill, the old man that no one expected to have significance, had started a revolution.
