Woot woot some trash
She wasn’t human. That was all I really knew about the girl that attacked me in the woods.
It was all (of course) on the night of Halloween when I was trick-or-treating with my little sister and her best friend. Our dad had come to chaperone us because he apparently didn’t trust me enough to babysit two responsible little brats.
We’d just knocked on the door of a strange old house and so the door opened. The girl who answered had weird silver hair, friendly gold eyes, and was wearing an orange sweater under a witch’s dress.
“Trick or treat!”
“Here you go,” she smiled, holding a bowl of candy out to my sisters.
“Thank you!”
We walked away, and I assumed that was the last time I’d ever see that girl again.
“DAD!” My sister cried. “We’re tired! Can we go home and eat our candy now?”
“Okay, fine,” my dad said. “Come on then.”
I didn’t move. “Dad?” I asked. “I told my friend Larry I’d stop by his house tonight while we were trick-or-treating.”
My dad sighed. “Go on, then. Be home in an hour.”
This was the way my dad always was; he was pretty okay with anything. I’d been shocked when he had wanted to chaperone our Halloween outing.
I decided to take this shortcut through the woods in order to get to my friend’s house faster. Sure, it was dark, but I had the light of my phone to guide me.
I’ll tell you right now that I wasn’t expecting to see her there.
The girl handing out candy from the strange house was about ten feet in front of me, but it wasn’t her. Of course, she would’ve looked slightly different in just the light of my phone, but right then she didn’t look quite right.
Her hair was at least five shades darker. I didn’t remember her wearing a white shirt with the sleeves ripped off under her witch dress, and her skin was really gray. I DEFINITELY didn’t remember her with bright red eyes and blood all over her hands. Her arms were covered in the strange gray hair that was barely noticeable but certainly not natural.
She stared at me for a millisecond before tackling me to the ground. Her weight pinned me down and I barely had time to think please don’t kill me before she tried to bite me in the neck.
I braced for a searing pain-but nothing happened. A second later, there was a white flash and I felt the demon topple off of me.
“Ugh, you traitor!” The vaguely familiar voice of the monster cried.
“Shut up!” A new voice groaned.
I forced my protesting limbs into a sitting position to see a girl that looked to be glowing silver kick the monstrous demon thing in the head. She fell to the ground unconscious.
“What-” I started to ask, but she cut me off.
“Come on!” The glowing girl pulled me to my feet and we sprinted out of the woods.
We stopped at Larry’s house-how she knew where he lived I don’t know-but as we were both panting I choked out, “Thank you for helping me.”
“No problem.” She replied, and ran away.
