Fun fact: In Season 4 Episode 4 “Ninja Roll” Chen changes his mind that Lloyd isn’t disqualified after Skylor mentions “If you kick us all out, what kind of tournament will you have then?”. Perhaps implying that though Chen didn’t like the idea of Lloyd still being in the tournament, he believed his daughter had something else in mind.
