Children in costumes pranced along the sidewalk as I drove past. Their parents scolded them for skipping too close to the road, and they slightly edged away from the gutter. I slowed down in hopes of seeing my son amongst his friends, but he couldn't be seen surrounded by the waves of vampires and werewolves. This street was a popular place for trick or treating, and my son always went to the same houses that gave out the best candy.
I was hoping to see him tonight. I had even dressed for the occassion. I knew his hero was.. uh, I think it's called Mario. The tiny red plumber man. My son often spoke in an accent mimicking this game person, and I always couldn't help but laugh. I did a little bit of research on exactly what Mario is, and came across the girl that he fancied. I'm pretty sure it's something called "Zelda". Anyways, I wanted to surprise him tonight by meeting him to go trick or treating. My wife had made this costume for me, and while it was tight (and I'll admit, a little raunchy) it looked exactly how the pictures on the internet looked. I would do anything for my son, even if I looked quite silly.
I pulled up outside my destination, grabbed a couple bits of candy and walked in to meet my son. I knelt down as I went to greet him, my knees hard against the concrete slab. I brushed away some dirt from the base of the gravestone, and placed the candy down gently.
"Hi, son. Trick or treat?"

Dad's costume ended up being too tight and the zipper on the back broke, and the wig didn't stick to his head too well. It was very sweet of him to visit me though.

If you're serious, that's the joke.
