WW2 [SS] German Greatcoat Soldier

The Allgemeine SS was the administrative and non-combatant division of Hitler's Schutzstaffel. These soldiers were commonly seen on German parade grounds and Nazi Party gatherings. The SS recruited men who either joined the Nazi Party during its beginning, or from Hitler Youth candidates who were worthy. These soldiers were usually not equipped with field gear, but only with a parade rifle and bayonet.
