Does the vanilla "neon colored" sheep bother you? If so, this texture pack is for you!
Does the vanilla "neon colored" sheep bother you? If so, this texture pack is for you!
I made this pack to learn how to mess around in optifine, but also to fix the main 3 things that bother me about minecraft sheep:
- The wool colors are allways looking too clean and far too bright.
- The short fur underneath the wool is ignored (giving a naked and sickly look), as well as it's standard for all wool colors.
- The sheep face looks too "human like" and is very uncanny for me.
With that goal I muted down the wool colors (only on the sheep), basing some tonalities in actual sheep coat colors, to get a more natural feel. I personally like dull colors in natural settings, but it also represents the animal natural colors, aswell as the fact that sun, rain and dirt will damage the fibers and cause some discoloration and other changes on the original colors.
It's important to remind that this pack will only change colors for the sheep! The shorn wool will maintain the original vanilla colors as if it was already clean and processed as soon as the shears are used.
I added in some variation with some marking patterns as well to make sheep flocks more interesting and diverse, just like it happens with the actual animal. So Optifine will be required for this part, aswell as the "dirt layer" color overlay.
If you enjoy this texture pack consider giving a diamond and/or favoriting in case I try to improve it further in the future.
