For Minecraft Bedrock 1.21, pack format version 1.20.50
Can be downloaded either as an .mcaddon (from the 'MediaFire Download' button) or as a .zip folder containing the behavior and resource packs.
Hoglins now have a 10% chance to spawn as a winged variant, which can be ridden by the player! This allows access to a flying mount in Survival Mode.
In order to ride one, you'll first have to craft a Gilded Crimson Fungus on a Stick, then interact with the flying hoglin. The mount can be controlled by right-clicking to use the Gilded Crimson Fungus on a Stick item (otherwise, it will just fly around randomly). Keep an eye on this item's durability, or you may end up plummeting to an untimely demise!
Flying hoglins will breed with regular hoglins (when fed crimson fungus), producing winged babies. You can speed up the babies' growth with more Crimson (or Gilded Crimson) fungi, and you can also heal adult flying hoglins with either of these types of fungus.
To safely approach a flying hoglin, the player should have one of the following items in hand:
- Crimson Fungus
- Gilded Crimson Fungus (crafted from 8 gold nuggets and a crimson fungus)
- Gilded Crimson Fungus on a Stick (crafted from a gilded crimson fungus and a fishing rod)
Otherwise, it will be hostile towards the player. They will attack if provoked, regardless of what item the player is holding: however, a flying hoglin can't attack you when you're riding it, so if it charges you, just climb aboard to get out of tusk range!
Since it is a hoglin variant, the Flying Hoglin does not have its own spawn egg or spawn rules file. If you want a guaranteed chance of getting this variant, it can be summoned using the command /summon jam:flying_hoglin .
This entity is a Nether-themed spinoff of a previous flying mount I designed: the Pigasus, which is part of the Science addon.

Have something to say?
A more precise description is that if you are sitting on a flying hoglin with a gilded crimson fungus on a stick in your hand, it will move along the ground in the direction the player is facing. If you right-click to use the item, it will fly in the direction the player is facing.
If the player is holding any other item, or has an empty hand, the flying hoglin will fly around randomly with the player on its back.
