secondly, I fixed almost all the z-fighting in this pack, by lowering the smaller lily pads on the "lil_pad5" model by 0.2 pixels in blockbench. it'll still be above the surface of the water but won't z-fight with any of the other pads.
during testing, in a 35 x 35 square of lily pads, it went from 23 pairs z-fighting to ONE pair z-fighting, and that pair is due to 2 of the same model right next to each other, being randomly rotated in an unfortunate way. this is really common in packs that extend a model beyond the edge of the 16x16 block, and is unavoidable unless we either move that model's planes within the 16x16 of the block, or we disable random rotation. both of which would take a bit of the randomness and fun out of the pack imo. but doable. (btw that particular model was not "lily_pad5" but I didn't check which one it was)

You totally don’t have to do this, but are you thinking of doing compat with environmental (an abnormals mod that adds large lily pads)?
