If you struggle to make sense of all the features of the JourneyMap mod, check out this how-to manual created from the mod's wiki.

Instead of opening a browser to Google the features/options, I can pull out this in-game book and flip to the relevant page. Arguably easier and faster than Googling, and more fun (for me) to be able to stay immersed in my game, passing the hours (minutes) til daybreak reading, cozy indoors while zombies moan in vain outside.

This pack doesn't replace any textures. It adds a book item, accessible through the Guidebook tab of Creative mode.

Created for version 1.12.2. Prerequisites:

Guidebook mod (for v1.12.2 recommended),

JourneyMap mod (for v1.12.2 recommended), and

Forge modloader (for v1.12.2 recommended; ad-free direct download for Windows machines here: https://files.minecraftforge.net/maven/net/minecraftforge/forge/1.12.2-14.23.5.2768/forge-1.12.2-14.23.5.2768-installer-win.exe)

Hey everyone,

I'm pleased to see that this guide has gotten several downloads, indicating that it appeals to more folks than just me. But I'd love to hear how it's working out for you. Did you have any trouble getting it to work? Is there anything in particular you don't like about it? I'm working on several more guides, and your input could have a big impact on those.

Cheers!

So, if this adds an item, i.e. is a mod, why is it in Texture/resource packs?

Good question! I've wondered where to post this, and asked several people for recommendations. This is apparently a somewhat unusual situation. It's not a .jar file, and the item shows up when I load the guide as a resourcepack.

I would've liked to submit as a regular resourcepacks, but there wasn't a category for non-texture-resourcepacks.

Guidebook mod adds a book. What my file does is basically make a copy of that, with different text and images. My item appears within Guidebook's tab of Creative mode, not in its own tab; I wouldn't know how to go about programming that. I'm still quite new to modding, and don't know what distinguishes a mod from an API, etc. So much to learn! :)
