ABSTRACT:
Welcome to ROMECRAFT: Roma, my latest texture pack, sister to the original ROMECRAFT:Germania. In this texture pack, I will seek to replicate the glorious nature of Rome, using mainly white stone, marble columns, rich colors, and italian-styled scenery. Essentially, I will take what was the original Romecraft and make it more Italian, less Germanian - a request I've received often! Progress will be slow on this one, I believe, so check in frequently! This texture pack is technically still in a BETA phase, and thus is not nearly as refined as my original pack (yet).

Also, be sure to check out:

Romecraft: GERMANIA (my most popular pack!)
and
Romecraft: AEGYPTVS

ROMECRAFT started as a personal texture pack for me and my friend H07HawK, just after Minecraft Beta was released in 2011, to better suit our little city we affectionately named "ROAM." It was an ancient roman city, with only roman themes - of course made for fun. After building a 1:1 Pantheon, I decided it needed to be spiced up with some new textures, and so I decided to start to learn how to use paint.net to texture the game. The first version, called "RomanCraft," had little detail and was overall miserably done. Soon after, I got sick of the ugly armor in Default, and made some subpar 16x16 Roman skins. Eventually, as my skills grew, I began to replace more and more textures, and learned to properly shade. I researched Roman building techniques nonstop, learning all about the architecture of Ancient Rome as I went. I focused mainly on a time period between 200BCE and 150CE, being my favorite time period of Rome.

To Be Done

- Finish 32x32 texture enhancement
- Finish unique ROMA textures
- Convert all mobs to custom skins (mainly enderdragon and wither)
- Finish all items (some are still default, but fit with the theme anyway)
- Finish all blocks (almost all are done, some are default - grass and plants need renovating)
- Finish GUI (creative mode screen is all that is left)

You merely unzip the Romecraft.zip file you downloaded, and place the Romecraft folder in your Resource Packs ingame.
