As long as your browser isn't set to reset user data, they should never disappear. Make sure that you don't have any settings set that may have cleared user-specific data (like "privacy cleaner" extensions for instance). All of the palettes and such are stored locally on your machine.
We have thought about syncing database stuff on our end, but, it's not something we've investigated thoroughly.
