Removable forum replies

I don't use the forum much, but it feels as if forum users don't have enough control over replies on their posts.

It's not uncommon that someone is rude or offensive on a post, so I think the author should feel free to delete it anytime. And yes, I do know reporting exists. But it'd be nice to get rid of the hate.

Or, as an alternative, if a reply is reported it is hidden.

Yours truely, Spectre. ~

Apologies, I was a little hasty in closing the ticket and didn't properly read the description.

Kolbi Why did you close it? The resolution is "finished", but I can't remove forum replies that are not mine?

Have been getting spammy meaningless comments as of late. Comments posted duplicate in accompanied submission and comments with a single word that sometimes isn't even a word.

I don't want to waste a moderators time or go through the effort of reporting for something that is so obviously remove-worthy.

Someone commented threads are different than submissions and idk how much changed in 4 years since that reply, but I don't think there is a difference between them regarding comments.

People will remove replies for invalid reasons.

But generally valid removal requests get ignored for no good reason. And besides, this already happens on standard posts.

"But generally valid removal requests get ignored for no good reason"

That's your opinion of it (everyone thinks their own reports are valid, even though we know not all actually are), if you feel like a valid report got ignored you can message a mod about it.

"this already happens on standard posts."

True, it's also a pretty "controversial" feature and not everyone likes it. Either way, standard posts are different from forum posts. Just because something is implemented in one place doesn't mean it has to be implemented somewhere else.

It has everything to do with what I'm talking about...

Fair enough. But still, I think it'd be an improvement more so than a flop.
