so i asked yall and you guys said you wanted something like this, so here it is ! this will act as a timeline for how long i've been making skins (3+ years !) and kind of guide you through the "phases" in styles i went through up until now ♥
so that's it ! as i move on, the future is super unclear, but i'll most likey go through phases just like these. finding my style again, taking breaks, experimenting with new things, it's all apart of the skinning hobby !
so let's be honest, i did this blog becuase i've been feeling crappy about my skins, and i wanted to remember how it all started. remember those times when i looked for new styles, and take inspo from old styles that i still quite like to this day.

2018
this is when i first started making skins ! i was pretty bad lol :cries: i honestly don't know what to call this phase, it was kinda just me trying to figure out how to shade, or more accurately, what shading was lol

late 2018 - early 2019
this phase is where i started to get the hang of shading, styles, and even picked up some hueshifting too ! overall, this phase was the learning phase, as it set me up for all the shadings i would do in the future, as well as teaching myself how to hueshift with the help of the other skindex users ♥

2019
this phase is where it got real o.o i took lots of breaks, started to work on improving my style to be more unique and special to me, and took more intense measures on hueshifting and palettes. i also picked up new design skills along the way !

late 2019 - early 2020 (ish)
this phase is where i learned about a more simple shading style, and this was also the start of more pastel palettes, and a more cartoon-ish look to my skins

fourth persona redesign
this phase is when i transitioned to using the pmc editor. with a little help from a friend on skindex, i learned how to watermark my skins, and i gained a liking to the pmc editor, leaving the skindex editor behind

2020
this was the fun phase X3 this is when i formed a pretty decent style, i was happy with my skins, and i got a chromebook for the first time, meaning i started to make my skins with the touch screen option ! (i apologize for the poor quality of these screenshots, i guess i took them when the screen was zoomed out ? but hopefully you'll be able to get the gist of it ♥)

my pastel phase !! :D tbh, i still haven't reached the "end" of this phase, cause i still do pastels, it's like my thing X3 but this phase was super important, cause it built up my pastel personification for my style, and set me up for new shading styles in the future !

i... i really don't know what to call this phase lol. it was an idenity crisis for my style, as i shifted from various styles and shading. this was another one of my learning curve phases, and it helped me overcome that want to quit skinning altogether. pretty dark times lol

2021 until now
so that's it for screenshots, unfortunately i don't have screenshots from this phase, but let me tell you, a lot of stuff happened o.o and it was really fast too !
1. i moved to pmc ! honestly one of the best things i did during my skinning hobby
2. i changed usernames and identities over and over -.- until i found one i felt good with (my current name !)
3. i created lots of new personas (i really needed to stop doing that huh lol) and i new have my current persona, addison ♥
4. life changed. with the pandemic, i had more time to spend with me and my skins alone, and that helped me greatly improve. but it also came with struggles. not being able to go out anywhere caused my anxiety to rise, and there were moments when i wanted to leave my skins forever. but pushing through, i am here now, and that's the best outcome ! ♥
