What if I told you that you could be anything you wanted to be? An astronaut, a famous musician, or even the President of the United States. I know right now you're doubting me because that's all impossible and only belongs in our fantasies. However, as long as youo re willing to work for it, anything is possible.

Yes, I'm saying that as long as you are devoted and bound determined to never give up you can be an astronaut, famous musician, or the President. If you don't believe me, then ask one of these people. To achieve their goal, they had to commit and sacrifice. I'm sure they also went through quiet a lot of pain and misery, but they got to where they are today because they applied themselves all the way. There are great opportunities out there, and all you have to do is reach out and take them!

Getting Recognized

So you want to be known, right? So you want to have a lot of people who recognize you? Not that any of that is bad, but if you want to be known you really have to work at it. When I say "really" I mean that if you want something as big as being known, you must be devoted to it. You have to work very hard to let others know who you are and why they should listen to you, most of all you have to gain other people's trust.

So I have a scenario for you:

Leto s say that you wanted to be a moderator for your favorite server, so you worked very hard and you were very passionate about it. Although you worked hard, you didn't get it. If you didn't achieve what you wanted the first time, why stop? If you give up after something went wrong, then all the work and time is wasted. So what, it didn't work? Try it again! If you really want something, you have to be devoted to whatever it is so that nothing can stand between you and your goal.

There is a reason why we fall flat sometimes, and that is so we can learn and move on.

Losing Is Not All That Bad

Losing at something is never a bad experience, in fact if anything if you lose at something you wanted to achieve then you will have learned more than the person that surpassed you. You will have learned things like what to work on and improve for next time, things like motivation and the will to do well, but most important of all the fact that no matter what you were devoted to whatever it was you were racing for. That last one I mentioned is the most important of all because it takes a great amount of character to see something through to the end even if it may seem hopeless.

-Now for a real-life example: this last week, I had the privilege of meeting someone who met up with the above criteria, in other words he was devoted to become the mayor of his city. He was told that the other candidate was much better than him and that he could never make it, so immediately he began to get the word out to as many people he could. Come Election Day, he fell short of several hundred votes. Although he had gained 43% of the city, it wasn't enough to his competitor's 57%. He took this defeat as a time to learn and prepare for his next election.

Two years later the time came for election of a new mayor. By this time he had already worked hard to let people know about him, and had meet many new people and made strong relationships with some. When the results came in, he had made a clear sweep by gaining 74% of his cities' votes. This just goes to show that if you are devoted to something enough to where you will never give up, you will achieve your goal.

Life is full of Potholes

This last week at Texas Boys State, I had a great opportunity to learn about the path to success as one struggles onward. Basically as it goes, whether you like it or not, you will run into problems or "potholes" in life. They may slow or even stop you to where you have to make repairs and fix things, but the key thing to remember here is that no matter what you can't let something like a pothole stop you from where you want to go.

Now to put this in a Planet Minecraft point of view; despite what others may tell you, it's actually okay to set BIG goals for yourself. So what, you didn't make the Pop reel your first try or you didn't make to amazing building you wanted to, well me neither. Just because something like this happens doesn't mean you should let it stop you. So pull yourself up, dust off your shoulders, wipe that look of defeat off your face and keep working hard until you reach your goal.

I sincerely hope that you found this blog helpful, as I tried my best to put it in a way you could understand. My thought behind this blog is that I know ito s hard to really apply yourself out in the real world, I just thought that I could aid you with reassurance that you are not the only person that may occasionally make mistakes, because everyone does. It's in your nature to make mistakes so you can become a stronger and open-minded individual, ito s how we learn. Also, I hope I did not sound redundant in my effort to convey that to achieve something you must be devoted to never let something stop you, and that sometimes you must be willing to accept defeat, but at the same time be ready to press on. As long as you are willing to work, anything is possible.

Now to close with my favorite quote,

"KEEP MOVING FORWARD"

-Walt Disney

Thats a good question. I'd think that not all five people could have the same devotion and characteristics, but then again the winner only has the get the most votes.
