Minecraft bats: Loud, annoying, bothersome, and completely useless. I hate them; The game was perfectly fine without them! They can't be tamed, they can't be ridden, they don't attack you, and they do nothing.
I aim to fix that-with bat clippings.

Why not make bats drop "Clippings" (Wings) or "Guano" (bat poop) as a potion ingredient? And what new potion would they be used in? A potion of Feather Fall.

In Minecraft, the farther you fall the faster you fall and the more damage you take on impact. With a potion of feather fall, you would not take so much damage, depending on what tier you use.

First tier (Potion of Feather Fall) you would accelerate 25% slower (And only take 75% damage)
With level two (Potion of Feather Fall II) this is doubled (And you only take 50% fall damage)

It would be more effective than the boot enchantment of the same name AND it would make murdering bats a lot more fun. Who doesn't benefit from that?

If it could make a potion like that it would have to be pretty uncommon like 10-20% chance of a bat dropping it. But anyway this is a pretty good idea. And bats aren't completely useless, if you here one during the day, there might be a cave nearby.

I don't find finding caves hard enough to make bats useful. I hate having my house underground and *bat noise* *bat noise* *bat noise* is the only thing I can hear. It bothers the hell out of me.

And why would it need to be that rare? I can see it making ninja-dropping on enemies in a PvP match unfair, but other than that, does reduced fall damage need to be so unobtainable?

what about bat armor that would give the ability to fly.

The problems with that are obvious.1: Minecraft doesn't need a new armor type. That's what mods are for-no players I've met want a new ore/drop for armor.
2: That would be ridiculously over powered. Even if its only granted ability was flight (no protection from damage), PvP fights would be ridiculously one-sided and mobs wouldn't be a problem if you flew right over them.
