Hello everyone, and welcome back to Battle for the Enchanted Netherite Trophy! Wait, that's not right... this is a new season; a new start! Welcome to the all-new BENT: Refresh!
Things are going to be a bit different this time around. Here's what's changed, (and why I've made these changes) since our last time around.
1 - Contestant Names
For BENT: Refresh, I've decided to take the route of using canon names rather than the mob names. The full roster will be released with the first chapter. I've made this change to add more depth and personalisation to the characters. I wanted to add more life to these contestants, so I made the decision to use their real names for Refresh.
2a - Voting System & Elimination of Eliminations
There will be no more eliminations in BENT: Refresh. I'm making this change for one of the main reasons why I canceled BENT: the time budget. How does getting rid of eliminations relate to lenghier time budgets, you may ask? Well, it's quite simple.
When I was running BENT, my schedule was similar to this:
-> Write Chapter A
-> Write intro for Chapter B, and make a basic outline using the current and not-final votes from Chapter A. It's normally what the final outcome is going to be.
-> Wait for Chapter A's voting period to end to get the true votes
-> Finish Chapter B
-> Repeat
This... didn't really work out too well for me, and my publishing schedule started looking more like this:
-> Write Chapter A
-> Make Chapter A's voting period too long for me to get Chapter B out next month
-> Get stuck coming up with a name for Chapter B
-> Focus more on gaming and schoolwork
-> Write intro/outline for Chapter B
-> Get the final votes from Chapter A
-> Get writer's block
-> Finish Chapter B far later than I wanted to
-> Repeat
This... was quite an issue. So, with BENT: Refresh, I wanted to eliminate this issue altogether, by of course, eliminating eliminations.
So, what will you be voting on now?
This time around, voters will vote on one contestant to win a prize. Simply put, there will be a prize winner every episode in Refresh. Instead of voting on someone to lose, you'll vote on someone to win.
The contestants you will be voting on will be determined through the game. Since contests will be ranked via a leaderboard in Refresh, the top three will be up for voting. There will still be 'elimination ceremonies,' but they clearly won't be called that anymore.
BENT: Refresh will only star a roster of 10 contestants. I wanted to focus more on relationships and arcs with this season, so a smaller roster is ideal.
Aw man! In my mind, and I lost track pretty quickly, but if iirc, it was one test forum that I never meant to post that sparked all this confusing PMC lore. Now, there's a bunch of nonsense about timelines and stuff, and I'll admit that I am part of that. There will be no roleplays within BENT: Refresh, as it takes place in what I've dubbed The Main Timeline. Only I can decide what is canon in that timeline, so roleplay is a no-go for now.

People who have commented on/given emeralds to previous BENT chaptersDon't want to be pinged on these? No problem, just let me know so I can take you off the list.
