Hey, it's Talon here. Today I want to talk about COMMENTING.

THE QUESTION AND THE ANSWER
So you may ask yourself, "Why should I comment? Why does it matter? I'll just tap that handy dandy diamond up there and all is done". I'm sure these questions keep you up at night. They haunt you. Well guess what? I have the answer. It does matter if you comment. Now don't get me wrong, diamonds are great. They really help encourage people to create more for the community. But commenting brings in something new that a lot of users just ignore.

Commenting allows you to tell the creator what specifically you liked and what you did not like.

More importantly, you can tell them WHY. Why is the big thing. Maybe tell them how to make it better. Now don't go around saying "This project is stupid. You're such a newb. What a dumbo". What you should do is something like this. "I love the project! The *part of the project* looks kinda funny though. What if you did *some helpful ideas* to make it look nicer?" <--- That right there is a compliment, and then constructive criticism.

WHAT THAT OTHER STUFF DOES
Now as I said, commenting shouldn't be the only thing you do. Don't ignore those other aspects of giving a diamond, subscribing, or favoriting it. I mean, diamond shows you like it and it's good. A favorite shows you want to come back to it and see it again. Subscribing means you really want to see more and more of this persons work. So don't ignore that, okay? I just see less people commenting and more people doing all that other handy dandy stuff.

REASONS
I suppose that people don't comment because they are lazy, or just don't care. Yeah, the diamond/favorite/subscribe are all buttons and with one simple click, you're good to go. But, at least in my opinion, the comment means more. It shows you got the time to tell the person what you like/did not like and why. So come on people. Just spend a couple more minutes on the blog/project/skin/texture pack/mod and tell us. I know creators love it just oh so much.

Well I suppose I'm done here...for now. Don't forget to hit that diamond if you liked it! That favorite if you want to come back to it! That subscribe button to see more! And most importantly *drumroll*
Comment what you liked and didn't like about this blog, and how to make it better!

I agree with that, indeed i normally do more commenting than giving diamonds or other stuff. This should indeed be of higher worth, as the people take some time to write something personal and not just hit the damn like/diamond like all the lemmings on facebook.
