Creating a server is not hard, managing it is a challenge for server owners. With these tips and tricks, i hope it'll help to make a better server. Now let's get onto it!
► Plan your server thoroughly
Before creating your server you need to plan everything. Every aspects of your server need to be planned, don't miss anything. You need to imagine you're a player and you're playing on the server with the plans you had made for your server, is it fun? or is it boring? You need to plan something that attracts players to play on your server with unique ideas. By planning thoroughly before you created your server, it'll help you a lot.
► Judge a server by it's cover
Yes this is a joke from "Don't judge the book by it's cover" but here we need to judge a server by it's cover. Nobody wants to play at a server who was unattractive logo, websites, or simply an unattractive spawn buildings. Spawn buildings is like the first thing players see when they come into a server, like i said that nobody wants to play at a server with unattractive things. Create your spawn building beautifully to get a good first impressions from players. Not only spawn, but everything.
► Be organized
Organize everything on your server, your server files, settings, procedures. By organizing your server you'll help yourself to tweak your server later and attracting players. Players doesn't like unorganized procedures to play, they play to have fun.
► Your players is the king
"Customers is the king" they said, same rule apply to players on your server. Treat them good and you'll get loyal player base in no time. But still stick to the rules you made.
► Security is number one
Adding security into your server is an important thing to do. Protect your server from rule breakers, hackers, external threats by punishing rule breakers, banning hackers, and adding protections for your server. Make players feel safe in your server it'll make them stay.
► Be unique and creative
Factions, towny, skyblock, prison, vanilla, or just a plain survival server, we got plenty of it. And people tend to think twice before leaving the server they got into first. So you gotta be creative, think about other uncommon server type that you think it may get players to play on your server. Investing money into your server helps you, gives you abilities to buy custom plugins, hosting and advertising services, and more. If you succeeded you'll get your money back, also with an addition of more money.

People will think before buying anything, they'll look at the prices, the perks, everything about the product. Think about the perks you give and how much do you think it would've costed you to get those perks. Don't give random prices to your products.

Your server has been a success in player traffics, but you're not getting anything. All you need to do is to attract players to buy your products. Give them discounts, promotions, trials or simply more privileges by buying your product.

Your server can't be run by one person only, you need a team to run your server. Pick trusted team members to manage your server, don't pick people you don't even know as a member of your team to manage your server. Kick out toxic members from your team, or it'll cause conflicts on your team that'll make your team unproductive so that you can't manage your server properly. And don't forget to keep in contact with you team members.

Think about taking your server to the next step, get yourself a dedicated server, server events, more advertisements, or even creating more unique features to add! Don't take a risk, plan on how you will take your server to the next step and how would you do if it's failing, imagine the condition where you've taken your server to the next step so you can tell that if you can maintain your server in that condition.
