Here are 5 great mods that I have found really cool and easy to install. All these mods require is the Forge Mod Loader (there are versions which support Minecraft 1.1 - 1.12.2) which are both also easy to install. I would suggest trying one of these mods first if you are new at mods. If you need help and can't figure out how to install your mods please PM me and I will do my best to help you with the installation process.

1. Galacticraft. This mod adds space to Minecraft! Build a space station, take a walk on the moon or even travel to Mars! Also, you can travel to the asteroids to see what they look like! [1.8.9, 1.10.2, 1.11.2, 1.12.2]
   
2. Mr. Crayfish Furniture Mod. This is a great one! want to decorate your house? This is the Mod for you. The download is easy with a site to help you and a PMC page for you to access if you need help. Mr. Crayfish is active and a great modder and will definitely help you if you need help! [1.8 - 1.12]
   
3. Twilight forest. Another dimension! Make a 2 by 2 pool of water, surround it by all natural materials and throw in a diamond. Watch your portal form and travel to a twilight dimension! [1.7.10] (version supported is a little low, but its still worth checking out!)
   
4. Better PvP Mod. While it adds no items or mobs this is a very good mod to have while fighting PvP or trying to survive in the End, the Nether or even the Overworld. This mod allows you to see stats on your weapons, stats on your armor and stats on mobs. It also has a small map in the top right of the screen allowing you to see the surrounding area at all times. 5. Immersive Engineering. This mod does a lot, mostly in the way you power your world. From waterwheels to windmills, Powerlines to rail guns there is a ton to do and explore with this mod. You can repower your city with sustainable energy (as if a Redstone torch isn't already super sustainable). [ 1.7 - 1.12.2]
   

These are my personal favorite mods that I have on my PC. I recommend them to anyone if they are looking for easy mods to download.
To install these mods all you have to do is put the .jar file that you download into the mods file that Forge generates after it is opened for the first time. (Galacticraft requires that you put all 3 .jar files you download for the mod into the mods folder)
