The difference between /teleport and /tp is that:
- The zero point in the relative coordinate used in /teleport is where the executor is, e.g. either the command block that run this command, or you if you directly type the command in the console.
- However, the zero point as in /tp is where the target is.
So, let's compare the following 2 commands:- /teleport HPHNM ~ ~-5 ~
- /tp HPHNM ~ ~-5 ~
Suppose that these 2 commands are run in a command block, and the former one moves you to 5 block-unit right under the command block, whereas the latter one moves you to 5 block-unit under your previous position. To prevent you from getting stuck into somewhere unknown, you may thus use /teleport to make the elevator even better!Another tip. Use the target selector syntax @p as possible instead of your personal username HPHNM so as to let the elevator be also working for other players.
Hope this helps! :)
