Factions Servers Fade into Sunset
It was just last summer and Faction servers were alive and thriving. Now is you own and run servers, there is a good chance that yours is dying if producing any play at all. Well I'm here to try and shed some light on why it is almost impossible to sustain any decent play on a Factions based server.
The first reason is the obvious. Bad Admins or Mods. Think twice about who your staff should be. They can be the single reason why you lose players. They come in many forms. The Givers, The kickers, The Mean Ones, The Trolls. Give your Staff one warning, but after that do yourself a favor and cut them loose.
The second reason is the very point of a factions server. Imagine you are a player, you sift through server after server until you finall find the right Factions sever for you. For Two week you mine and collect resources. Your build your base. Its the finest base you've ever made. You've spent sleepless hours into the night working as hard as you ever had. Finally you fade off to sleep, knowing it is a job well done. The next day you log on and ...What?! You've Been Raided! All that work and time, GONE. What are the chances this player will stay? Virtually Zero.
Third...Factions in my opinion made some damaging changes to its game play, making raiding impossible unless you know the commands to change the way the plugin operates. They are not easy to find.

2. There are people who are meant for faction servers, there are people who are not. The ones who are meant for faction servers are people who know how to recover, who know how to get back from a raid and rebuild. It's obvious that the people who rage about factions are people who can't handle being raided once, or who have an inability to get back from a temporary cripple such as that.
3. What do you mean damaging changes to gameplay? I didn't really understand that claim.
(On a side note, it's ironic hearing this from someone who has posted not one, but two faction servers to PMC).
