There is an amazing modpack out there called FTB. Many mac-owners don't play it though, because you have to launch it a little differently. Follow these steps to successfully launch your FTB launcher on a mac:
1. Download the FTB launcher at http://feed-the-beast.com/ Make sure to use the JAR download.
2. Create a folder on your desktop named "ftb" exactly like that. (Of course without the quotation marks)
3. Place the FTB jar launcher in that folder and rename the jar launcher "FTB_Launcher.jar" exactly like that without the quotation marks.
4. Hold COMMAND and press SPACEBAR. It should open up a searchbar in the top right-hand corner labeled "Spotlight"
5. Enter "Terminal" in the search bar and then press return when your cursor is over the terminal icon.
6. Copy and paste the following text into the terminal window:
cd ~/Desktop/ftb/
export JAVA_HOME=/System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/1.6/Home
java -jar FTB_Launcher.jar
Then press RETURN.
7. And FTB should open up. (Do not close the terminal window) Then select the modpack you wish to use and click "Launch"
8. Your modpack should download, and if it shows the MOJANG screen then you know that you launched FTB correctly.
Note #1: Closing the Terminal window at any time will shut down FTB Note #2: You will always have to launch FTB this way, so make sure to bookmark this page!
