Many people who make skins seem to have trouble shading the hair. So I decided to create a tutorial for shading hair! Lets face it, shading hair is different from shading clothing and body parts, so lets start of with..
Step 1: (Note - Done with the Light/Dark tool)

Create your hair, I chose the "Teen" hair for this demonstration.
Step 2:

Start the shading procedure, you want the hair to look random like this, is its even all around then it looks more like a chunky block then anything. (Note: Do not do the bottom yet)

Now this is where it gets a bit difficult. You shade it a bit more, just 1 pixel deeper verticality, use the picture for reference, it helps you figure out what I'm saying.

Repeat step 3 with different shades until you cant shade any more, it should start to look like this

Congrats! You have done the dark shading! The lighter shading is practicably the same as dark shading. Just go a lighter shade 1 pixel verticality like the above picture. Then just keep on going with another layer, as de scripted by the below picture.

Then just repeat until you cant shade any further.

Ready for hell? This is the hardest part for shading the hair. The top part... Anyway's first of I just layered the top a little bit, you will see why in the below picture...

I just shaded another layer on there, do you see those stray pixels? Do you see why? It's like that because some of the shading on the hair is too dark for the next layer, so I didn't shade where the darker strands of hair are.
Step 7:

Add another layer, you see that I shaded some parts and not the other? Same thing as before, different shades, also you gotta be a little different with the shading as you see that a lighter shade is directly touching a darker shade. Try to avoid stuff like that and move on with your shading. By adding shades you should get to a complete stop and the hair should look a little like this...

Doesn't that look good? The bottom part is just like the top but with darker shades instead of lighter shades, once done you should have some good looking hair! Have fun with your skins, I hope some people will do better skins now with this. I have never read a tutorial on PlanetMinecraft so I don't really know if its good, so tell me if it is or isn't in the comment section, thank you and goodbye.
