Chapter 1:

I stand there stationary, gazing out my window. The sun was slowly lowering, or was it the earth slowly tilting? I could hear the sounds of the floorboards creaking, knifes chopping, and pans clanging, as my mother and sister were in the kitchen. My mother was cooking dinner, along with my little sister, who was attempting to help. My father was out at work, along with the other tradesmen.
“Noah” My mum called. “Do you mind collecting some wheat for dinner darling?”
I shrug as if I could care less.
“What is for dinner?” I ask.
“Potato, carrots, and bread” She responds.
“That’s what we have every night!” I exclaim. “Why can’t we have something more adventurous? Like pork, or steak.”
“Noah, we are a vegetarian family. We are a vegetarian race!” My mum gives me the face of disapproval. “Would you eat a pig if you had to kill it?”
She had actually proven some decent points, but I shrug it off, and ignore it.
“How much?” I ask, acting as if I completely forgot that happened.
“Grab about a stack, that should be a enough for the next week.”

The door slams behind me, and I could hear the faint sounds of my mother helping my sister inside. I sigh as I slowly make my way to the farm. I happened to look around, and notice nobody around. I start collecting the wheat as a suspiciously look around the place. I couldn’t see anybody, couldn’t hear anybody. Well, except my Mother and sister. My pockets could barely hold the wheat, neither could my hands.
I hobble my way back to my house, still to not see any signs of others. I open the door, quickly making my way to the kitchen.
“Uh mum…” I puzzled.
“Yes darling?”
“Where is everyone?” I reported. I noticed my sister, she was placing segments of chopped up potatoes into a bowl.
“Not sure, perhaps there is a gathering of sorts?” She pointed out. “It is dinner time, so they could be inside having dinner with their families.”
I didn’t bother to continue the conversation, but I still new something was wrong. Perhaps I was being a bit paranoid. Maybe they actually were just having dinner.
My temptations force me to peak outside. “Perhaps some have finished dinner, and are outside now.” As I peak, I glance around the area. Not a testificate in sight… For further studying, I begin to walk around the town. Looking between houses, even inside some windows. The houses were bare from floor to roof. I hear the voice of my mother call out. “Noah, back inside! Your father will be home soon.” Mum muttered. “He wont be happy if he sees you outside on your own!”
I stump back to the house. I knew something was wrong. No one was in sight, we were the only ones in sight.
“Mum…” I stutter. “Will he be coming home?”

Chapter 2:

The sun was invisible in the sunset orange sky. The slight tip of the sun peaked over the mountains. I couldn’t stop stressing over the thought that my dad could be dead. Or even the whole village in fact.
“Dinners ready!” Mum croaked.
I stumble my way to the dining table, placing myself on the chair.
“Now Noah, your sister did a very good job helping me with dinner, so you have to acknowledge that”. Mum sneered.
Rosie, My sister, walks up to me with my plate in her hand. She places it directly in front of me.
“Here you go!” She smiled. “That’s for you!”
“Thanks” I say.
“You’re dad should be home by now” mum wondered. “Perhaps he just got caught up I in a conference.”
“Perhaps he is dead” I added.
“Excuse you! You’re father isn’t dead! He is late! You are just going a little crazy. You need a really good sleep tonight.”
“Mum,” I pointed. “We are the only villagers in sight!”
Mum didn’t bother to reply. She must’ve ran out of comebacks. I slowly munch my carrot, not enjoying any bit of it whatsoever. It does get quite boring after having it each night for 10 years.
“I’m not hungry.” I mention.
I stand up and leave the dinner table, not even bothering to push my chair in. I limp my way down the hall, where why bedroom is. My mum and sister didn’t even reply. They just carried on with their food. I fall flat on my bed, as the thoughts of all the village people drain out everything else in my mind. It was stuck there, like plaster on a wall.
Mum was walking down the hall. That I could tell due to the sounds of the footsteps, and the creaking of the floorboards. My door creaks open, giving me a little fright. I retaliate and quickly turn around in anxiety, hoping to god for some good news.
I notice my mum’s head poking about from the door.
“Noah, I’m off to bed. I don’t want you staying up too late, I recommend you get some beauty sleep.” Mum explains.
“Yeah sure.” I reply. “I’m feeling quite average, and quite tired.”
“Okay good night, sleep tight.” My mum slowly closed the door, attempting to make little noise.
Dad still wasn’t home, no one was. Why wasn’t my mum caring about the fact that our whole village has just disappeared. It’s like they are only invisible to me. Maybe I have some sort of condition? No – that can’t be. That’s just stupid.
I continue to pace up and down my bedroom, thinking of the outcomes of what has happened to our people.

“Perhaps I should go hunt, and find them myself.” I quietly mutter to myself. I mean, it’s not like they can disappear of the face of the earth just in the click of a finger”.
My dad isn’t dead, neither are the people, and it is up to me to find them. If not, our civilization will die.

Chapter 3:

The door once again, opens, this time being Rosie. She spreads out her ours reaching out to give me a hug.
“Good Night Noah!” She snuggled.
“Good Night” I say eerily.
She leans forward, giving me a sloppy kiss on the check.
“Don’t let the bed bugs bite!”
She smiled, gripping hard on her brown teddy bear, which she got on her first birthday. One of its eyes had already gone missing, and half of the fluff has fallen out. She walks out of the doorway, as I hear her soft, and quite footsteps rattle the floor. In can hear my sister talking to my mother, but I am not capable of figuring out what they are saying.
“Probably something unnecessary, or irrelevant.” I whisper to myself, as I slip into my cozy, warm bed.

I hear Rosie’s bedroom close, followed by my mother’s. Anxiety, disquiet, and nervousness keep me wide awake, for as long as life itself. Tossing and turn, flipping like a coin. Horrible, and awful daydreams and made up scenarios keep replying in my head, resembling my fathers yet-confirmed death.
“Where are they?”
“What are they doing?”
“Are they okay?”
These questions keep replaying in my head, trapped like birds in a cage.
My only option was the sneak out at night, and attempt to find them. They are somewhere. They are alive.

Without even bothering to think twice, I quickly hop out of bed, swinging my coat, which was hanging of the wall. The coldness of the floor sends chills up my leg, shooting up my spine. I manage to find my boots, tucked away in my closet, along with a pair of thick, blue, woolen socks.
I tip-toe around the house, assuring that I don’t awake anyone. If it is my mother, she will be mad. If it is my sister that is awoken, she will then tell mum. So the truth is, if I wake anyone up. I’m in huge trouble.

I continue to tip-toe around the hall. My mum’s door was now slightly open, I can see her under the sheets, frozen as ice. There sitting next to her, was nothing. Sitting next to her, should be my father. My sisters door is closed. I don’t bother to open her door.
I finally make it to the front door, slowly turning the handle, being cautious of my surroundings.
I had my diamond sword equipped. It would be needed at this time of night. God knows what creepers shall ambush me. As the door flies open, a whiff of fresh, cool air gives me goose bumps, hairs sticking out of my skin like a tree out of the ground. The wind was causing the curtains to flap up and down. As well as blowing some of my dads papers that lay on the coffee table. I quickly shut the door behind me, before the cool breeze hits my mother. I gaze around the village. Nope – Not a villager in sight. I sigh, fear and sorrow seeps down into my mind. But I never gave up on my hopes.

I spot out a few creepers, about 30 blocks away from me. Luckily they don’t notice me, and I am able to escape the village. Suddently, as I bolt around a corner, there laid a dead villager. Thankfully, It wasn’t my dad, I didn’t even know who I was. But he was one of our people. He had an arrow speared through his neck, blood dribbling down his purple jacket. He was almost covered in blood. I look at his right hand, it looked like he was holding something. I grab it out of his pale, dead hands. It looked like some sort of paper? A Map? Half of it was covered in fresh, soaking, blood. After examining the wet paper for a few seconds, I realize that It wasn’t a map, It was a note.

Chapter 3 is out now :)
I used the word limp, because using the word 'walk' repetitively gets irritating. He will start the adventure in chapter 4, end of chapter 3 is the climax to the beginning of the adventure :)
