Let's face it, 2021 hasn't been the best year and neither has 2020. Let's come together this December to create a bunch of beautiful fireworks to blow up '21 and blast into '22.
Also, a big thank you to Vellariya for creating the cosy map.
A quick disclaimer: The server is 1.18, Java edition only. Apologies to all bedrock users, I simply did not have time to configure a plugin server and they tend not to play nicely with data packs.
Just over 125 unique fireworks have been submitted so far! Are yours amongst them yet?
During the 30th and 31st the server will be locked down every now and then to test the show. Submit your fireworks before then. You can submit as many as you want.
The fireworks show will happen twice, so that everyone around the world can get a chance to see it. The following links will open a website that shows the date and time of each launch in your time zone. Make sure to be at least 5 minutes early, you don't want to miss the countdown which starts before the listed times.

DATE AND TIME OF LAUNCH 2
In case anything doesn't go as planned during the event, I'll be posting updates in this thread.
Read on to learn how you can be part of the show!
After joining the server and finding the Celebration Testing Facility, it's time to create your own fireworks. Let's get to it. When you open the Fireworks Composer chest it should be empty.
Grab yourself a blank firework rocket and put it in the chest. In the window that opens, you will see the firework stars inside the rocket. Up to 3 firework stars can be added, unlike the single firework star in vanilla crafting. The flight power setting can be ignored, because it will be overridden during the fireworks show on the server. The buttons on the right allow you to test the firework rocket and create the item. After creating the item, you can always re-insert it into the Fireworks Composer chest.
Click a firework star to start editing it. In the next window you'll be able to toggle the shape, sparkles and trail. You can also fully customize the (fade) colors of the fireworks. You can delete the star or navigate back using the buttons on the right.
If you click one of the Colors buttons, another window will open up. This is where you can see the currently active (fade) colors.
Click a color to set it. A window will open up with a large palette. Vanilla crafting only offers 16 dye colors, half of which are too dark for fireworks. That's why you get access to 25 rich colors instead, each of which will show up amazingly in front of the night sky. You can also delete a previously chosen color in this window.
Once you're done, simply click the back button(s) in the bottom right. Use the test button in the barrel window (the firework star overview) to see how your firework rocket looks and adjust the fireworks to your liking if desired. Use the button underneath to create your fireworks item. You can then drop the item in the hopper that's in the Celebration Testing Facility to submit it for the big launch.
If the instructions left you with questions, have a look at the video below:
That's it, thank you for contributing your fireworks! I'll be announcing later at what time the launch is happening. Also, after new years, the data pack making all of this possible will be released to the public. How exciting!
Near the frozen waterfall, there is a buried treasure for you to find.
Join blastinto22.gq and come create a super fancy fireworks show with me!
