Hey Fellow Members of the world of PMC!
Today, Im going to be discussing my broad ideas on future inputs into the game of minecraft. I like to express my suggestions and thoughts to others, to get the other peoples perspective on things.
So, My school friend and I have been thinking about this for a long time, "What if Minecraft had thirst?"
Lets get started shall we...?
HYDRATION:
Spawning in your new world, you notice in the first slot of your hot-bar a glass bottle, filled to the brim with water. You are confused as to why you have this. You take a sip of the water to give it a test. Pure, fresh water.
As you carry on with your average minecraft day, you feel the need to take a few sips. You find this quite strange, considering this is Minecraft.
A day has passed, and the bottle is basically empty. As you take a final sip to finish of the bottle, you realise you are still quite thirsty. You notice a shoreline up ahead. So you race there and fill up the bottle. As you lift the bottle to your mouth and take a sip, you spit it out in digust. It was salty! Now you feel even more thirsty! But where do you get fresh drinkable water? You continue to walk home, and have some steak for dinner. You are so thirsty that it is no longer funny. The next morning, you go outside to go hunt for a fresh water source. As a few hours pass, you notice a river up ahead. You fill up your bottle and take a sip. Fresh water. You feel much better and relieved.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thats the story explaining my point. It should make much sense and a clear point in it.
How does It Work?
Ok, so when you create a world. You will spawn with a bottle of water. You will have a thirst bar which slowly goes down, like the hunger bar. When you right click the bottle, it will fill up the bar by about 2-3. The bottle items water will go down a bit each sip you take. If you drink water from a beach, it will deduct your thirst considering it's salt water. So drink water from rivers. If you don't get water, you will eventually die from dehydration.
Aww, but what if I want to play without thirst?
Don't worry. If it is added into the game, It will either be a choice when first creating the world (like cheats, bonus chest etc.) OR It will be only added into hardcore mode.
Thats all for this blog! If you believe this is a good idea, leave a DIAMOND and maybe a FAV. If you like this blog make sure to SUBSCRIBE and check out other content I create!

It would be cool too, if you could boil salt water from oceans with fire to get freshwater if you're nowhere near a freshwater source. c:
They can't even do hunger right. No, I don't even mean when it was first added, I was fine with that, but then Dinnerbone made Minecraft into a zombie apocalypse, and it was also made that when you heal, your energy bar (and saturation) starts going down quickly. You can't even fully heal (from a half-of a heart) without needing to eat again.
To top that off? Hunger has always only healed you when you had about 90% or higher energy. So guess what? Now, as soon as you recieve a few hits, you need to eat again to heal..... wait, that sounds a bit like the old health system......
So yeah, sorry to say but adding hydration would be a complete disaster. You might as rename the game to "standing simulator, 2014"..... and I doubt Mojang would make it optional, they'd just stick it on hard mode, or varying levels only devoid in peaceful mode.
While it's cool to think about how realistic we can make MC compared to real life or other games, sometimes it's better (making the game more fun, or keeping it from becoming worse) to leave real life stuff in the real world and out of minecraft. :) Just my opinion. I suppose if you could switch this feature on and off I'd play with it sometimes, and mostly go without. That'd be fine.
In fact, if finding a fresh source of water was necessary, not having enough water could be a possible cause of hallucinations if they were in minecraft. two birds with one stone here...
