Hello! Hovstr here and today I am going to tell you about my opinion on why we don't have firearms, and what it would be like if we actually DID!

In case you don't know, firearms are like guns, for example, Machine Guns, AK-47, M-14, Glock, Rifle, ect.

Now, guns in the gaming world are quite popular, we have Call of Duty, Cry of Fear, Halo, and many others, right? Well, why isn't it in Minecraft?

There are many people who play FPS(First Person Shooter) games and they also play Minecraft, I am supposing that Notch was shooting for quite an innocent game, even though there was animal voilence and fantasy violence and what not, but I still ask the question of why you couldn't make weapons? In a new update they can add metal, they already have iron and wood, so they could easily have a craftable rifle, but I am assuming they just wanted 1 single range weapon, like the bow and arrow, and they didn't decide to make it so upgraded in weaponry, even though I think it would be nice to have a natural no-mod display of different weapons, melee or ranged.

So, my conclusion is that we don't have firearms in Minecraft because it's a little too out-of-the-ordinary for such a game like Minecraft. Where the weapons are quite innocent.

Now, what if we did?

Some would think it would be a little too exaggerated, but in my opinion I think having some shootouts on some servers would be really badass. Then again, Minecraft is a highly original game itself, and having a popularized objective such as shooting with guns would be unoriginal. Which I understand.
