I believe we have all seen builds that are called "legit" by their creators, in the hopes that by saying that it was built in Survival mode the build is impressive.
When people see it: Pfft, worthless
When someone tells them it was done in Survival mode: ERHMAHGERD ITS SER ERSHOME
I hate (LOVE) to break it to ya, but it isn't that good.
Now, perhaps that is an exaggeration. That does not change the fact that people go around saying they did stuff in Survival mode, expecting people to say they did good and being proven right in that expectation.
Stop that.
I judge a build based on how good it is. You did it in Survival mode? Congratulations, you used more time.
And now we move onto this "legit" perspective.
Let's take my project Dunwall. It is built entirely in creative plus SPC and World Painter. Now, because of these things, I should hereby be arrested because I did not build it "legitimately", and if you have a brain for words you would know that "legitimately" and its sister words mean "conforming to the law".
WHAT LAW?
The law set down by Mojang?
There is none.
The one set down by the UN?
There is none.
The one set down by any form of organization of deathly deadliness?
There is none.
So, if you are going to attempt to brag and show off how you built something in Survival, say you built it in Survival. Using the term "legit" is like saying my pal Steven here is going to flay my hide for not building in Survival:

It seems that most users on Planet Minecraft see "legit" builds as something that was built by manually collecting resources in survival...
To me, as a staff member, "legit" just means you didn't steal it from someone... lol
Make more legit stuff! :P
I mean, why walk if you have a bike? Unless you like to walk or if you are really drunk, not taking the bike is not a very smart choice in my opinion. I don't know why people sometimes try to show off with that. :P
I disagree. If you build something "epic" or stunning in Survival Mode alone or with your friends then the build is something special for you.
There is a story behind it, something only you and your friends know.
However I also don't really like these people who show off with it (...)
