Herro!
This is my first blog! yey! Hoorayz for me!
but on a srs note ppls
Redstone in maps can be hard, trust me, i know. But since i've been making the sequel to my parkour map (The Sprinter) i've learnt alot that helps a load when using redstone and other things.
1. /setblock command
This tip is extremley useful. Ever found yourself in a small confined area where you can hardly make any redstone that will go through a series of command blocks? well just have 1 command block with the command being the /setblock command (/setblock [co-ordinates of block] [block] [damage/data value]) because you can make another area (underground preferably) a few blocks away, and either have a restone torch, repeater, then a blank spot another repeater then the command block. it should look like this.

2. Wold edit (server)
This is EXTREMLEY useful for building. seriously. if it wasn't for this, i would have never started making maps. If you didnt know, World edit is an in game editing tool for the world around you, allowing you to set huge areas of blocks to the block of your choice in a matter of seconds. There is also things like making spheres, cylinders, pyramids and having the ability to copy and paste blocks around. As i said, EXTREMLEY useful. You will need a server for this though, but setting up a server just for you to build on isn't a hard task to do, it'll take you 10-15 mins maximum.
3. /home (server)
This is a pretty useful thing to have whilst making maps, especcially if the parts of your map are very far apart. This allows you to set a waypoint in other words and name it (/sethome [name]). Its very useful when you need to quickly teleport to another part of your map to check something.
4. Knowing command blocks (for Adventure maps mainly)
This is essential for making adventure maps nowadays. Understanding command blocks can be such a useful thing because if something isn't working, you will most likley know how to troubleshoot it. To learn this stuff, watch people like Sethbling and Dragnoz, both are amazing to learn from (esspecially Dragnoz, I really started to understand those blessed blocks after this guy. you cool man, you cool. :D ) Alternativley, you can find a command generator for a certian type of command block command, such as /tellraw, /give and other cool things!
Thats it!
Thanks for reading this, it means alot! (Diamonds are cool btw... there might be one on the top left of the page... :3 )
Feel free to mention your own tips in the comments for other people, or even make your own post for it!
Thanks again and BAI!

Have something to say?
And I think you should add some more info in the command block part. Like in adventure maps the /say or /tellraw commands is way much better than placing signs or books every where. Anyway, a really cool guide
Diamond!
