It is easy to download mods as long as you have Magic Launcher.
This is a very simple tutorial video on how to download Optifine using the Magic Launcher. Basically, you need to go and download both Optifine and magic launcher, then open Magic Launcher and select Setup. From there, you need to click ADD, select Optifine, and hit upload. If it works, then there should be a green check by it. Thats it. Optifine will only continue working if you continue using Magic Launcher to launch you Minecraft.
