Maps

If you like to download maps
in Minecraft, then you might want to know how to get them up and
running so that you can play them. Here is how you unzip .zip
files
. This is complicated, so for beginners, you might want to
have some help in case you need it. ( To be able to perform these
commands, you will need a .minecraft folder, with a saves folder
inside. To see a hidden file (.something), you will need to
click on view, then show hidden files.

1. Make sure the .zip file is in your saves folder.

2. To get to the section of
the files that you need, use

cd .minecraft/saves/

It should say (account
name)@(computer name)-laptop:~/.minecraft/saves$

3. Then type *(Part of file
name INCLUDE CAPITALS IF
NEEDED
)* , then hit enter.

4. If the folder name appears below, then double-click on the file name. Then go to the next line and type. unzip (right click to copy name down to the line) then hit enter.

If the file name has spaces in
it, then you have to type it out. You must type it a very specific
way, though. This is how you type it: (Part of name)\ (Part of name)\ (Part of name).zip

You type the \ as many times
as you need to make everything fit. That is how you unzip a Minecraft
map file.

Resource/Texture
Packs

Your probably getting bored of the default look of minecraft, right? I thought so. This section is about how to use a resource/texture pack. You will need: a recourse
pack folder, the .zip file containing the pack, and basic programming knowledge.

1. Get the resource/texture
pack and put it in the resource pack folder.

2. Open minecraft and go into
settings (Options) and click resource packs. Hit the arrow pointing
over the the other side of the screen and then click done. It will
take a second to load the pack.

3. Enjoy!

That is how you use a resource pack in minecraft.
