Minecraft specification

Hey all. Over the past 4-5 months I have been asked repeatedly why Minecraft is running slow on computers, why it wono t work at all and o if I want to record lets plays what is the best way to record Minecrafto . Well I am here to answer all the above questions in a simple-ish way. So lets start with Minecrafto s system requirements.





Please note that I am highly knowledgeable in computer parts and how they should be use so dono t just say that it is a load of crap cos it isno t!

Minimum Requirements

• CPU : Intel P4/NetBurst Architecture or its AMD Equivalent (AMD K7)
  
• RAM : 256MB
  
• GPU : ATI Rage or GeForce 256 with OpenGL 1.2 Support
  
• HDD : At least 90MB for Game Core and Sound Files
  
• Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 or up is required to be able to run the game.
  

Recommended Requirements

• CPU : Intel Pentium D or AMD Athlon 64 (K8) 2.6 GHz
  
• RAM : 1GB
  
• GPU : GeForce 66xx or ATI Radeon 9xxx and Up with OpenGL 2 Support (Excluding Integrated Chipsets)
  
• HDD : 150MB

· GPU (graphic card): ATI Rage or GeForce 256 with OpenGL 1.2 Support


· HDD (Hard Disk Drive or Hard Disk Space that is free): 90MB for required files


· Java Runtime Environment (JRE): Latest version





Recommended Requirements


· CPU (central processing unit): Intel Pentium range or AMD Athlon range with 2.6 GHz (Gigahertz)


· RAM (random access memory): 1GB


· GPU (graphic card): Any card that had OpenGL 2 and 24+ cores (all modern cards have that so dono t worry)


· HDD (Hard Disk Drive or Hard Disk Space that is free: 150MB for required files cos things update


· Java Runtime Environment (JRE): Latest version, it is automatic updating so dono t worry





Now if your Minecraft runs but jumps or freezes for a long time then you have to consider getting a new graphics card or new pc. Here is what I recommend. Please note that I have lots of people who tested this with me so I have accurate results but some might be a-bit off.


· CPU: Intel core Duo (2 cored CUP), AMD Athlon range cos they seem to like Minecraft.


· RAM: 2GB+ so pc can run background things as well to help gaming


· GPU: AMD Radeon HD 4500+ (No joke they are like $20 and will run Minecraft at about 30FPS+) Nvidia GeForce GTX 550 Ti +


· HDD: 120GB+ Java likes bigger Hard Drives and will have more space to save other things on.


· Java: LATEST COS THAT IS WHAT MINECRAFT IS MADE ON!!!!!


· Other: Laptop should be plugged in which will help the graphics card





You might have seen videos on youtube of Minecraft and wonder how that record that, well they will mostly use a programme called FRAPS (most people will but the vids that look really bad DONo T). FRAPS is the leading in-game recorder for PC. However FRAPS has one really big drawback, recording size. I have tested and a 3 minute recording at 720p is about 4.5GB and at 1080p it is about 8GB because it records in the best quality it can. So specs for recording. Please note that is for a desktop and not a laptop because laptops are not designed for recording. NOT JOKING!!!


· CPU: 2nd generating Intel i processers (i3,i5,i7) or AMD phenom+ with at least 2.6GHz


· RAM: 4GB+


· GPU: AMD Radeon HD 6500+ Nvideia GeForce GTX 560 (A big leap is needed to keep game response time at a high level)


· HDD: 500GB C drive SATA 2-3, 1TB SATA 3 drive to record on to.


· Java: LATEST


· Other: 720p or 1080p screen so the video is of a good quality
